–Establishing Community Value: Measurement and Reflection

Creating the value proposition for the individual, the community, and the organization may be the single most important part of community development. But how do you know if you’ve succeeded? With a discussion of measurement approaches and a reflection on lessons learned, we look at the value created by the community and the contribution of the community development process to organizational capabilities. Approaches for assessing the community’s value include: a formal survey, the personal insights of the community facilitator and project manager, a team review of the process, and recommendations for next steps.
