Your business

The checklist is intended to help you reflect on where you are at present, the way you organize and manage the business generally. It is the sort of information you would put together as a summary or introduction to a business plan when applying to banks or other financial institutions for funding, or indeed as part of an annual report for shareholders. Depending on the size, type and structure of your particular business, it will be as brief or as detailed as necessary to give an outsider a picture of the context in which the risks are being managed, without getting bogged down in too much detail which will be included in later sections.
