The ability to authorise a project to move forward a stage at a time is a major control for the Project Board. There is also a need for a process to create a plan to react to a forecast deviation beyond tolerances. This process aims to provide the information needed by the Project Board about the current status of the Project Plan, Business Case and risks to enable them to judge the continuing worth of the project and commitment to a new plan.
