ABSTRACT
Terms of Reference (TORs) lay down the scope, parameters and purpose of your work, i.e. the areas the project is expected to cover, and those it is not.
ILM provide a generic set of Terms of Reference, and require that you use these as a framework for designing the specific TORs of your project:
1 to investigate the nature and scope of a management problem or situation within an organization in order to bring about an improvement
2 to generate and evaluate possible alternative solutions or ways to bring about the required improvement
3 to draw conclusions and make recommendations taking account of the human and financial implications
Spend some time making sure that you can ‘fit’ your chosen project topic into this generic framework.
