ABSTRACT
The cooling of buildings is one of the largest of all energy sinks and therefore a major contributor to carbon dioxide emissions. This chapter considers a range of alternatives which fall into two categories:
• technologies which involve an external or stand-alone source of energy • systems which are integrated into the structure and fabric of a building.
