ABSTRACT

In previous pages I have described the four distinct types of work activity that can underlie the construction of any job. These variable components of a job allow greater control over how a job is executed. Yet this change in approach complicates the relationship between a given work content and a particular form of remuneration. How then in general does the theory and practice of work roles impinge on payment systems?
