As may be seen in Table 1.1, which maps the syllabus learning outcomes and units where they

are covered, this first unit will provide a framework and organizational setting to explore the

dynamic inter-relationships between businesses and the various environments in which they

operate. The material is relatively straightforward but of critical importance to an understanding

of subsequent units, since it provides a foundation upon which the others are built.
