ABSTRACT

Building an agenda for innovation is not a trivial exercise. Each of the components is valuable in its own right, but there is such strong interlinking that many will not survive for long without the others – or cannot even start without a complementary piece of the jigsaw being put in place. It is hard to build a culture of innovation without a move away from management towards leadership. Creativity techniques can be introduced to the business processes, but will rapidly fall into disuse without the right resources and without innovation being part of the reward process. The culture itself is dependent on enhanced communication and breaking down the hierarchy, which threaten to start off a move to DisOrganization.
