Living in Harmony
Relationships have a rhythm like the rhythm of the tides or the rhythm of the gardener who has learned to let the hoe do the work. But this rhythm can get out of synch like the tide in a storm or the hoe that lets its master's anger take over. The storms of conflict can take on a life of their own, as we discovered in chapter 15, and wreak havoc for a time. As we also found in chapter 15, there is much to learn from the storms of life. Perhaps the first lesson is that cultivating common ground while holding a life and a task in common is about learning from the storms of life and discovering the rhythm of the group in the process.
