ABSTRACT

Imagine, for a moment, that you have just been tapped to join the creative team of a toy company, and your first assignment called for your group to accomplish one of the following tasks:

. To invent a life-like doll that incorporates a new type of nanotechnology, one never used before for a toy-and the toy must be developed in a way that fits with the traditional play patterns of small girls;

. To devise an original line of interactive talking playthings, each distinct from the other, and whose personalities can only be conveyed through their physical appearance, their wardrobe, their playpieces, and eight minutes of audio;

. To develop a doll that recreates a well-known story, doing so in a way that is interactive and draws the child into the experience; or. . . .
