ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to develop an understanding of financial management and business planning issues which particularly affect entrepreneurship. Specifically, within the context of the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries, this chapter will develop understanding of:
financial characteristics of entrepreneurial businesses;
resource poverty, its implications and ways of avoiding it;
sources of finance and their operational and ownership impact;
business planning approaches;
financial management in small entrepreneurial ventures.
