ABSTRACT

Lighting in CG, as in the world of cinematography andphotography, is all about producing a final look that reinforces the mood of a scene and creating the all-important emotional connection with your audience. As long as your lighting successfully achieves this, the way in which the set-up was constructed is largely unimportant. However, in CG the fact that there are so many different methods of arriving at a solution makes the whole process much more flexible. Though scenes might look similar, the different approaches to their lighting setups can vary by a surprising amount.
