Measuring ROI

An important trend of increased accountability for training results made the measurement of return on investment (ROI) a routine part of evaluation processes in many organizations. Senior executives are requiring results in terms they understand and appreciate. An ROI calculation clearly shows the ultimate value of training when benefits are compared with the cost of (or investment in) programs. Because the actual number of ROI calculations is small relative to the total number of possibilities, a convenient sampling process is used to select the appropriate programs for this ultimate level of evaluation.
