ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter we considered the characteristics and mechanisms involved in a variety of differing hard copy output media. In this chapter we shall deal with the means of production of hard copy both by conventional photographic printing and by the newer technologies. Today there is a bewildering array of available means and media for producing hard copy. Figure 21.1 gives an extended version of the section of the imaging chain which deals with these aspects, previously given in Figure 1.3 in a more generalized form.
