ABSTRACT

For years, Adobe has incorporated a rare and interesting digital format to be used between a few of their applications called the filmstrip. When this chapter refers to a

“filmstrip”, there is no celluloid involved beyond a metaphor. However, when a film-

strip is opened in Photoshop, it takes on the appearance of celluloid. This type of file

is really a series of video frames laid out sequentially and numbered at the bottom of

each frame as shown in the figure above. To generate a filmstrip, you need Adobe

Premiere or After Effects. As long as you are able to create a filmstrip file, there are

some very creative ways to take advantage of this unique format.
