A documentary proposal

In passing it should be noted that all documentaries are biased, as indeed all productions are, but it is only those programmes which have a political or other sensitive content which may present a problem for the programme maker and consequently for the production manager, particularly in the latter stages of production where the requirements of the commissioning body may result in alterations being asked for at a time close to the delivery date. Therefore it is doubly important for the scope and content of a documentary to be clearly understood by all parties at the beginning of the production in the hope that this will reduce or negate the likelihood of editorial problems arising; hence the need for detailed negotiations and written agreements.
