ABSTRACT

Timing for a 2D Digital Production In many 2D animation programs the notes on paper exposure/dope sheets have been replaced by digital levels displayed upon the computer screen. The director times out their cuts using the story reel, almost as an editor would do traditionally. Then they create an extra level on which to write and draw their notes digitally using a stylus and tablet. The director may write on each frame, or create rough sketches for the animator to use as guideposts. All of this has the benefi t of immediate and repeated playback.
