Organizing Continuous Improvement
The way continuous improvements are organized differs from organization to organization and is mainly determined by the business size and the complexity of the improvement needed. Depending on the nature of the problem, one can work with improvement teams or with improvement circles. The starting points of both concepts are the same, namely, systematic and structured problem solving based on the problem-solving cycle. Working with improvement teams and improvement circles requires the creation of an improvement infrastructure as well as the development of an improvement mentality throughout the organization. These two organizational structures will be discussed in detail in this chapter.
