Forecasting future tourism flows
Various levels of aggregation are also relevant to decision-making; for example, governments are interested in total international inbound and outbound tourist expenditures at a country level, hotels in tourism demand by city or region, and airlines in tourism demand by route. However, the great majority of published studies on tourism demand focus on highly aggregated (i.e. country to country) forecasts. The principles therefore also relate to this level of aggregation.
