ABSTRACT
Forecasts of international tourist flows to Europe show that there will be 717 million arrivals in 2020. This represents an average annual growth rate of just under 3.1%, compared with the rate of expansion world-wide of approaching 4.2%, for a global total of 1.56 billion arrivals by 2020. Europe will retain its regional leadership of international arrivals but with a declining share from 59% in 1995 to 47% in 2020.
