ABSTRACT

The anchor is a key ingredient in a video journalism or school reporting program, but less obviously the anchor or anchors are important to many other types of programming: interview shows, sports programming, and many reality and documentary programming, where the reporter or narrator can be considered the anchor. Perhaps even more important for a broadcast that’s seen beyond the campus itself is how the wider audience receives the anchors. They then act not only as the face of the broadcast but also the face of the whole school program, the district, and the broad school community of students, teachers, administrators, staff, and parents. More than one camera can be used, but the purpose is to get the anchor portions of the program on tape. The recordings of their portions of the broadcast, spot intros, voice-overs, and interactions are edited into the final program.
