ABSTRACT
It has now become evident that some materials, mainly those with a long history behind them and possibly a phasing-out in the future, will not be metricated; although their parameters may be expressed in metric units. Attention may also be drawn to the case
of water pipes and fittings mentioned below. The editor would be particularly grateful for notification of any
changes that need to be made in this chapter in subsequent reprintings.
