A diary is for long-range planning: to note appointments and commitments for weeks and months ahead. It will depend on your particular job as to whether you need to do this.

A team diary can be a very valuable means of agreeing and illustrating events that are relevant and important for all team members. The diary might show:

■ dates and times of team meetings; ■ scheduling requirements to meet customer orders; ■ holiday periods for individual team members; ■ parental leave for individual team members; ■ training courses, for individuals or the full team.
