ABSTRACT

Most of the professional and prosumer camcorders come with the ability to adjust different elements that affect the image quality that the videographer record. Learning and mastering iris, shutter speed, focus, and white balance controls will become extremely beneficial to videographer productions. The iris inside a camera’s lens controls the amount of light that will be allowed to reach the camera’s CCD. The iris control of a camera works similar to the iris in your eyes. In bright conditions, the iris of videographer’s eye expands, making videographer’s pupil smaller in order to decrease the amount of light coming into videographer’s eye and onto videographer’s retina. When someone shoots a movie on film, their camera is taking a series of photographs in a short amount of time, usually around 24 pictures in one second for every second. Every video camera has a zoom control. Some would argue whether that’s a good idea or not, since it has become the most overused feature on the entire camera.
