ABSTRACT
Chapters 4 and 5 are concerned with the design of members which are predominantly in bending, that is, where axial loads, if any, are small and transverse shear forces are not excessive. Chapter 4 contains basic theoretical work on section properties and the design of laterally restrained beams using Class 1 standard sections and plastic methods of analysis.
