VAD: Value Added Dealer. value added common carrier: An organisation that sells the services of a
Value Added Network (VAN). Value Added Dealer (VAD): See Value Added Reseller (VAR). Value Added Network (VAN): A telecommunications network that uses
the basic transmission facilities of a common carrier, and adds value to it by providing enhanced services such as protocol conversion, error correction and network management, through the use of hardware, firmware and software. These services are often referred to as Value Added Network Services (VANS).
