Zero Byte Time Slot Interchange (ZBTSI): A technique for maintaining ones’ density on Extended Superframe Format (ESF), used on TI circuits. Not commonly used.
zero code suppression: Used in T1 systems where a minimum ones density is needed to keep a system alive. A one bit is inserted into a data stream if seven or more consecutive zero bits have occurred.
