Increasingly key stakeholders are examining organizations’ products and operations to evaluate their impact on the environment; ISO 14000 provides a parallel framework to ISO 9000 (quality systems) for environmental auditing. Porter’s Value Chain can be used (Unit 1) to audit the internal operations of the organization for their environmental impact. Peattie and Charter’s model provides a framework for ‘greening’ an organization’s marketing process (Figure 2.1).
