ABSTRACT
In this short, concluding chapter the book’s ‘big ideas’ are reviewed. Event Studies has attempted to justify, define, build the foundations and suggest a research agenda for this academic field. The need has arisen from the global, rapidly expanding professional practice of event management and event tourism, and from the needs of policymakers who are increasingly dealing with event-related issues.
