ABSTRACT
There are many definitions of leadership, as is t rue of any much studied subject. Common to most of them is the capacity to influence others. The Collins Concise Dictionary defines leader as 'a person who controls, guides or inspires others'.2 Other even simpler definitions are 'to guide' or 'to show the way'. Academics have produced many more elaborate ones that seek to explain what is behind leadership.
