ABSTRACT
The principal bodies responsible for investigations of accidents are, however, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities where they are the relevant enforcing authority for the purposes of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSWA). The HSE has entered into various concordats with other agencies to determine the extent of their respective roles and responsibilities.
