Home entertainment systems

Figure 16.1 shows the block diagram for a typical audio amplifi er system designed for high-quality performance. It is capable of handling a wide range of different input devices ranging from a high-grade CD player to the audio input from a television receiver to form a complete home cinema installation. Because the many different input transducers have different amplitude and frequency characteristics, the initial input stage will have individual sockets with frequency compensation circuits (equalizer stages) to match the parameters to those of the amplifi er input preamplifi er.
