ABSTRACT
The Courts of England and Wales are divided into those handling criminal and civil litigation. Personal injury claims for damages (compensation) are brought under civil law through the civil courts made up of the County Court, High Court (District Registry in the provinces), Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
