ABSTRACT

Location shooting days usually begin between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m., depending on the season and the type of shoot. When shooting exteriors, the objective is to have as much usable light as possible for actual recording. This means loading, unloading, travel and the initial setup can often take place very early in the morning. Whatever the call time, the crew arrives and either loads the trucks, or if this task was accomplished the evening before, completes a final equipment check and heads for the first location. Once the crew has arrived at the location, which we will assume is a large office area, the initial setup begins.
