ABSTRACT

Now for the good news. There is an important and steady trend in the HRD field: a move toward more relevant programs whose impact and results are monitored, evaluated, and reported. T e entire human resources management function is responding to demands to measure its impact, and training and development appear to be taking the lead. This is probably one of the most difficult and challenging changes occurring in this profession, and there is growing evidence of this trend in every direction. Some HRD professionals, already aware of this trend, may find Chapter 2 elementary and wish to proceed to Chapter 3.
