ABSTRACT
The intention with this piece was to try to capture an exact moment directly before death. I guess it is a reaction to my own personal fears and paranoia of living and working in Western capital cities under today’s political climate. I felt it relevant to have the event happening to a middle class, stereotypical, Western office worker and to freeze- frame the instant he became aware of his demise. To get this effect I wanted to have a feeling of extreme movement and force but without the use of motion blur. That way the viewer can absorb the true horror and detail of such a situation. The exact cause of the blast is intentionally left unknown to provoke more intrigue. I hoped to make something a little off the beaten track but relevant to a situation which could happen, in a way that would never be caught on camera. This is one of the great assets of digital art today, giving the artist the tools to create realistic images from the depths of his imagination, or in my case paranoia.
