ABSTRACT

Workflow For this character, I really wanted to focus on the overall pose. My original pose was a little too casual, and I felt an action pose would give the viewer a better sense of how the character might carry herself. I decided to go with more of a Western gunslinger type pose. I very

loosely blocked out the gure’s pose, as if she was startled from behind and had drawn her gun. From there, I added other elements that would help sell her motion, like the hair and rope swinging around her. I liked the idea of using these props almost like an animator would us them as secondary motion in an animation. The initial costume design included a skirt, but I ended up replacing it with chaps. I felt the chaps added another layer of motion to the pose.
