ABSTRACT

Managing lots of layers distracts me from the business of painting, so at this point I attened the image. From here all the painting was done on a single layer (Fig.07). I then began to paint, rening the shapes that remained from the value sketch. My process is one of gradual renement, which gives me the impression of the painting “coming into focus” as I work. I think this is an economical process, helping me to manage the amount of detail I need to apply.
