ABSTRACT
What’s the shooting format? Is it film or tape? What format within that? Is it 16mm or 35mm? If it’s tape, is it going to be SVHS, Hi-8, 3/4SP, BetaCam, BetaCamSP? Check with the facility first to ensure that they can handle the tape or film format you will be shooting on. It is not always a good idea to “bump-up” smaller formats for editing because of the quality loss due to the step in generation.
