ABSTRACT
The word “ style ” in editing refers to an aggregate of choices. It’s a tricky
word in that it can be quite amorphous, but it’s useful in the discus-
sions between directors, producers, cinematographers, and editors,
because it allows them to imagine the whole production as a coher-
ent rhythmic construction and discuss what the fi nal will look and
feel like.
