ABSTRACT
Hereford steers meet a good demand and sell very well, but Heifers are not popular because they are too small and carcasses tend to be very fat. Aberdeen Angus cattle have now returned in popularity and command a premium particularly if pure bred. The beef produced from these pure beef breeds — particularly steer beef — is in good demand but in many cases tends to be rather fat, especially heifer beef.
