ABSTRACT
The intrigues of Orgetorix are discovered by the Helvetii. He escapes before his trial but dies, possibly by his own hand. The Helvetii, however, continue with the preparations for their migration and begin to move. This brings them into conflict with Caesar and with several other Gallic tribes who appeal to Caesar for help. Caesar is hindered in his attempts to deal with them by the failure of the Aedui, another Gallic tribe, to provide the food supplies for his army which they had promised. He discovers that Dumnorix is responsible for this.
