ABSTRACT
The effects of people on objects and their environments are many and varied. Most of the hazards can be controlled so that damage is minimized. Because most risks are easy to contain, much of the damage occurs through random failure of control procedures. This means it is often difficult to make useful predictions. The physical effects of numbers of bodies in one space can be calculated, as can the reduced lifetime of objects taken out of storage for study.
