ABSTRACT

This section provides examples of many of the issues raised in Parts One and Two of this book. Although it is not possible to be comprehensive in terms of the coverage of all typologies of wellness tourism sites and destinations, many of the operational and management issues are similar, whatever the location. This includes some of the problems of renovation and regeneration; product innovation and diversifi cation; marketing and promoting destinations; balancing global developments with local features; integrating ancient traditions and new facilities; attracting and mixing market segments; and managing health and wellness tourism businesses.
