ABSTRACT

The technology can help readers create amazing new visions or very expensive-looking shots economically, or it can tempt they to reach beyond their capabilities and end up with cheesy-looking shots. A part of the craft will also be assessing the most appropriate and effective technology to use: what available current technology will be most effective to convert readers imagined vision into an actual moving image that others can see and experience. Limitations of technology may in some cases be a call for boosting the budget to create new, cutting-edge software. Animation giant Pixar has poured massive amounts of money into development of new shaders for realistic hair and fabric, for instance, and each successive movie shows the results of these efforts. With the tools we have at our disposal today, and the tools of the not-too-distant future, readers can create some truly astonishing images and effects.
