ABSTRACT

A greenscreen studio is not that difficult to set up, and there are several portable/temporary setups that can be quite serviceable for limited usage. If readers are an amateur enthusiast, they can skip the next section and go find some green paint for their garage wall. If the floor is painted blue, special linoleum studio floor squares can be laid over it to convert it back to a regular floor. The paint is a high-quality water-based latex that has high pigmentation and so covers very well; in typical applications, a gallon will cover about 300 square feet of primed drywall. Rosco also offers a matched set of paint, fabric, and gaffer tape known as the DigiComp system, which is available in blue or green. One of the advantages of using both paint and fabric is that it extends studio flexibility. Green paint and blue fabric are pretty low-tech, and haven't actually changed that much over the last 35 years.
