ABSTRACT

Right of establishment and freedom to provide services – the Architects Directive 85/384 EEC 1 .03 Three of the fundamental principles underlying the Treaty of Rome are the free movement of workers, the freedom to set up business in any member state and the freedom to provide services in a member state, other than that in which the provider of these services is based. In order to ensure that those principles are met so far as architects are concerned the Community has adopted Directive 85/384 EEC which has been implemented into UK law by the Architects ’ Qualifi cations (EEC Recognition) Order 1987 (SI 1987 No. 1824, as amended by SI 1988 No. 2241 and SI 2002 No. 2842).
