ABSTRACT

A lthough this book is primarily concerned with enabling you to get an image well lit and correctly exposed in the camera, thus requiring little postprocessing, there are certain operations that facilitate an efficient workflow and help improve image quality. Therefore, this relatively short chapter on image processing is included, but there are many books available with far more comprehensive discussions, both on general image-processing techniques and software-specific titles. Some of these are listed in the Resources chapter. For the purposes of this book we will use the example of Adobe Photoshop CS4, but many other software packages are available that will perform the same functions, such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Nikon Capture NX, and PaintShop Pro.
