ABSTRACT

Lights in a digital environment simulating nature are just as important as in the real world. Beautiful summer day-lit scenes can cause harsh shadows, overcast skies may be too dark, you may have an object you want to bring more attention to, and more. The huge advantage of the digital lighting kit available in Vue is that you don't need to lug anything around, and you can choose whether or not you need to deal with lighting artifacts such as lens flares. Lighting itself is a specialized art form, with entire professions and books dedicated to getting it right. To get the most out of Vue's lighting, it is a good idea to study some of them and gain at least a basic understanding of lighting techniques.
