ABSTRACT

Through the years when I was operating within an academic framework, I had a succession of student secretaries—young women cashing in on their office skills to earn further education. Working with these students, I soon discovered that their most paralyzing fears centered on the writing of term papers. The envy they expressed at the apparent ease with which I did my own writing was flattering, to say the least. When I suggested that term papers really weren’t all that difficult and offered to show them a simple procedure for dealing with them, their gratitude was heart warming to see—especially when they tried the procedure and found it really did work.
